A Message from Provost Jones

A photo of Cal U provost Gerri JonesA number of student services are administered by the Office of Academic Affairs including the RegistrarAdmissions, Articulation and Transcript Evaluation, Career Services, the Internship Center, Student Retention and Success, and the Manderino Library.

In addition to our main campus, students are offered a variety of educational opportunities at off-campus sites including the Southpointe Center, located at the Southpointe Technology Park in Canonsburg, Pa. Cal U also offers classes in Johnstown and Somerset.

Cal U traces its history back more than 150 years to an academy founded in the small town of California in 1852. Since then, we have grown to be a proud member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education and join the 13 other state universities to offer higher education to nearly 117,000 students each year.

Partnerships are critical to success in higher education. Cal U has formed partnerships with a variety of public and private institutions and organizations. The goal is to better serve our students and to be an exemplary community resource.

The University's core values of Integrity, Civility and Responsibility guide our interactions. We adhere to the University's Bill of Rights and Responsibilities as we work toward the University's mission of building character and careers.

At Cal U we recognize that education takes place both inside and outside the classroom. In the spirit of Cal U for Life, we support community service and civic engagement, and we encourage our students to become active participants in the campus community. It is our hope that students will forge a lifelong relationship with the University.

I urge you to visit Cal U and see for yourself what we are all about. Nationally recognized residence halls, a beautiful campus, caring and concerned faculty members, dynamic academic programs and a long list of student extracurricular activities make Cal U a university on the move. I invite you to come along!
