Decision Point Two: Admission to Teacher Education
For admission to teacher education students must have current qualifying scores on the basic skills assessment requirements. There are a variety of options to complete this aspect of admission to teacher education.
Test scores are valid for ten years from the date the test was administered per the Pennsylvania Department of Education. To register for the PRAXIS tests and to order any Practice Test Booklets, visit the Educational Testing Service (ETS) PRAXIS web site.
Decision Point Three: Recommendation for Student Teaching
For recommendation for student teaching, candidates must have current qualifying scores on the current instructional content knowledge assessment requirements. There are a variety of options to complete this aspect of recommendation for student teaching.
The qualifying scores for the required content tests are determined by your grade point average and using the GPA Scaled Score Chart. If you are an undergraduate major, your GPA is your overall GPA at Cal U. If you are a certification only or graduate student your GPA must be calculated and is based on all the courses you were required to have to be eligible for teacher certification in Pennsylvania.
