

Department of Counselor Education
The Department of Counselor Education will prepare you with the appropriate academic and personal growth opportunities to help you become a professional master's degree-level counselor in your chosen specialty area.
Graduate students are expected to develop a high level of self-awareness, a strong knowledge base and competent counseling skills in order to practice ethically and professionally within a diverse society. Consistent with these expectations is the emphasis placed upon your growth in exhibiting the dimensions of warmth, empathy, unconditional positive regard, genuineness and congruence. Our esteemed faculty members will facilitate your development and model appropriate professional behavior.
We offer the following high-quality, career-oriented degree programs. Our master's degree programs are both CACREP-accredited. This indicator of quality counseling degree programs opens doors for our students. Both our master's degree programs also fulfill the degree requirements needed for the National Counselor Certification (NCC), as well as the Pennsylvania professional counseling license Pennsylvania Licensure Act 136 of 1998 Click on any of these programs for more information about the degree.
