The Department of Theatre and Dance offers the following high-quality, career-oriented bachelor's degree programs. Click on either program for more information.

Bachelor of Arts in Theatre

The Bachelor of Arts in Theatre degree builds students' knowledge, skills and character through classroom instruction and high-quality theatrical productions, preparing them for entry-level employment or further study.  California University's Bachelor of Arts in Theatre program is one of just 178 programs to be accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre.  NAST establishes national standards for undergraduate and graduate degrees and other credentials

Bachelor of Science in Education: Certification in Communication (Theatre Concentration) for Secondary Schools

The Bachelor of Science in Education degree program certifies students to teach theatre in the high school.  Courses required give students a general knowledge of all aspects of theatre.  This degree enables students to fit an array of courses in a high school setting, thereby, increasing their usefulness and productivity.

The Department also offers Theatre Minors with concentrations in:

  • Musical Theatre

  • Dance

  • Theatre history/literature

  • Technical theatre/design

  • Acting
