The University Choir provides an opportunity for students to sing a wide variety of music from both contemporary and traditional repertoire. The choir performs frequently on campus and throughout southwestern Pennsylvania with an annual tour abroad. Choir membership is elective; an interview with the director is required.

University Choir may be taken as a one credit course and is repeatable up to eight credits.

The California Singers is a small (16-24 members) vocal ensemble, with membership determined by audition. The group performs entertainment music of all eras and many cultures; the style of performance is adapted to fit the music being performed, the audience and the season. Smaller groups within the ensemble, such as the A Capella Stella (all women a capella) and Vulcanize (all male a capella) may rehearse separately to prepare extra concert repertoire. Choreography, dialogue or mime is part of some performances.

California Singers may be taken as a one credit course and is repeatable up to eight credits.

Men's and Women's Ensembles

Include Vulcanize and Acapella Stella (pop acapella groups), which a part of the California Singers group.

University Gospel Choir

The University Gospel Choir (Young and Gifted Gospel Choir) is a group of hardworking and God-fearing students on the campus of the California University of Pennsylvania. The choir maintains an active performance schedule singing at several churches and Universities in and around the Pittsburgh area of Pennsylvania. It also stages an annual Joyfest Gospel Concert on the University campus and has performed with several influential gospel artistes including Myron Butler and Jonathan Nelson. The repertoire the choir performs includes traditional African American gospel music and Negro Spirituals.

University Gospel Choir may be taken as a one credit course and is repeatable up to eight credits.
