Garnett Livingston

Biography

A native of Dallas Texas, bass trombonist Garnett Livingston received graduate diploma from The Juilliard School, and his undergraduate degree from East Texas State University. While in Texas he worked with the Dallas Ballet, Dallas Wind Symphony, Richardson Symphony, and held summer positions with the Disneyworld Jazz Ensemble, The American Wind Symphony, and Music Academy of the West.    

While studying at Juilliard Garnett had the honor to study with two members of the New York Philharmonic brass section, Don Harwood and Joseph Alessi.

Prior to graduation he was the winner of the 1998 Lewis Van Haney International Trombone Competition, and his trombone quartet was one of three finalist in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competiton.

Garnett has spent the last 15 years performing and recording frequently with Columbus Symphony, Cincinnati Symphony, Pittsburgh Symphony, West Virginia Symphony, Pro Musica Chamber Ensemble, Dayton Philharmonic, and various other ensembles throughout the Midwest. 

Garnett is also an accomplished private chef, and is founder of La Maison, which specializes in private dining and small event catering. 

He lives in Upper Saint Clair with his three lovely girls and wife, Ellen, a violinist with The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
