Nancy Lonich attended Seton Hill University where she earned her B.S. in Music Education and also certification in music therapy.She also received her elementary certification from California University of Pennsylvania. She holds a Master’s in Music from Colorado State University with a specialization in Neurologic Music Therapy and is a Board Certified Music Therapist. While completing her education in music therapy Nancy has had the privilege of working with clients in mental health, assisted living, and also with autism and other neurological disorders.
Nancy has taught elementary music for over 20 years and has enjoyed leading a children’s choir and implementing Orff pedagogy within the elementary curriculum. She follows the philosophy that every child is musical and should have the opportunity to discover their talents.
She also teaches piano and is a church organist and choir director. An interest in the positive and healing effects of drumming has led to a Level II certification in World Music Drumming and Health Rhythms.
Research areas include the effects of music therapy on chronic pain specifically osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia.
