Biography

Mr. Mullen holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Geneva College in Human Resources Management and a Master's Degree from Point Park University in the Administration of Criminal Justice.      

Mr. Mullen is a lieutenant with the Allegheny County Police. He is  assigned as a district commander at Pittsburgh International Airport, where he oversees police operations, including patrol, EOD technicians, EOD K-9 teams, and narcotics interdiction. Mr. Mullen has served as both a detective and a supervisor in the Allegheny County Police Sex Assault and Child Abuse Unit. Mr. Mullen established the Allegheny County Child Abduction Response Team and developed and implemented a compliance verification system for registered sex offenders in Allegheny County.

Mr. Mullen is a member of the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Medical/ Legal Advisory Board on Child Abuse and the Pennsylvania Child Justice Act Task Force. He has served on the U.S. Attorney’s Crimes Against Children Task Force for the Western Region of Pennsylvania, as a member of the advisory board of the Allegheny County Sexual Assault Response Team (SARTAC), and the Allegheny County Victim Services Policy Board. Mr. Mullen is also a former board member for Pittsburgh Action Against Rape, a rape crisis center in Allegheny County.

Mr. Mullen was recently recognized as one of the top fifty "Irish-America Law & Order Leaders of 2014" by the Irish Echo newspaper in New York City.
