James Carter

Biography

Carter moved to Pennsylvania in 1990 to teach at Cal U. Prior to that move, he taught at the University of Dayton (Ohio) for four years. He has worked as a radio announcer/disc jockey, videotape editor, video operating engineer, film projectionist and government access cable TV producer-director.  Recently Carter has been doing entry level, freelance, sports production with Fox Sports to better understand the skills required of students who graduate in electronic media.

  • Chair of the Leadership Development Committee for the Mon Valley District of the Greater Pittsburgh Council of the Boy Scouts of America
  • Staff member for the 2005 and 2010 National Boy Scout Jamboree
  • Accompanies students to the Society of Broadcast Engineers regional conference and trade show in Pittsburgh.
  • Accompanies students to the Government Video Expo in Washington, D.C.
