Quotable

"Friends describe me as flamboyant because I wear bright colors and embrace life with joy and enthusiasm. I believe that there is much good in the world and that Mr. Rogers is right when he sings, ‘You are special.' I am also deeply committed to making the world better. I am not an activist like my daughter, but we agree on many things and she has taught me a great deal about the things that need to be changed and the ways to accomplish these changes. It is my faith that I can be an instrument of goodness that inspires me to teach my students, help others in need and accept each day as a special gift. Within my circle of influence, I try to inspire others to become excited about learning and living and to set an example for both."
