Master of Science in Athletic Training: Admissions

Admission Requirements (Regular)  

  • Bachelor’s degree with a GPA of 3.00 or higher (Students with a GPA below a 3.00 may apply for conditional admission)
  • Official transcripts from an accredited undergraduate institution

        Conditional Admission Requirements

  • Conditional Admission may be granted for a period not to exceed two terms with the following modifications of the Regular Admissions Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree with a GPA under a 3.00 will be reviewed for a decision
    • Applicants who are currently BOC certified athletic trainers with a 2.50 GPA or higher will be given strong consideration
    • Unofficial transcripts

Program Requirements

  • Reliable transportation for travel to affiliated clinical sites as needed
  • Submit the Graduate Athletic Training Program (GATP) Application Form:
    • Must be BOC certified or have completed exam requirements
    • Must be Eligible for Athletic Training licensure from PA State Board of Medicine
    • Must have current emergency cardiac care certification before starting an assistantship
    • Must have liability insurance before starting an assistantship
    • Must have appropriate clearances before starting an assistantship
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Cover letter and Resume
