

Cal U Evening College
Welcome! The Evening College is designed especially for the non-traditional student. Whether you’re interested in entering a degree program or simply want to take courses for personal enrichment or professional development, the Evening College program is right for you. Evening College programs can be customized to meet your needs and interests. Classes are offered evenings and online to accommodate the busy schedules of adult learners. The Office of Lifelong Learning is your "one-stop shop” to explore your options, receive answers to your questions, and complete your application and registration. Non-Degree Students
You can register for Cal U undergraduate courses (as a non-degree student) for personal enrichment or professional development even if you do not plan to pursue a degree. Up to 30 credits may be completed in a non-degree-seeking status. After reaching 30 credits, students must either declare a major or indicate in writing that they do not plan to pursue a Cal U degree. Note: non-matriculating/non-degree students are not eligible for financial aid.

Degree Students
The Evening College offers three baccalaureate completion degree programs. These degrees may be completed entirely through evening or online courses. (Areas of concentration within degrees may be selected in consultation with an academic adviser and are subject to course availability.) Classes are offered during the fall, spring and summer sessions.
Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies
The Bachelor of Arts in liberal studies is designed for students whose interests span traditional disciplinary boundaries. This flexible degree program is ideal for non-traditional students. View the Liberal Studies degree worksheet (.pdf).
Bachelor of Arts in Social Science
The Bachelor of Arts in social science degree provides a broad education in the social sciences. Course selection may be adapted to personal interests. This degree serves students with specific goals as well as those who are undecided about career plans. View the social science degree worksheet (.pdf).
Bachelor of Science in Science and Technology
The Bachelor of Science in science and technology offers a degree program in the science and technical fields. In addition to completing general education classes, students choose a professional education component. View the Science and Technology degree worksheet.
Remember, if you’re still exploring your interests, you can take courses as a non-degree student without declaring a major. Students who begin as non-degree students and later decide to complete a degree must submit all required admissions information (and be in good academic standing) at the time of application.
Credit by Examination (CLEP)
Evening College students may receive credit by examination through the College Level Examination Program of the College Board (CLEP). For more information, contact the Academic Scheduling and Placement-Testing Center at 724-938-5779.

Your application (.pdf), a non-refundable $25 application fee, and required information/transcripts must be received by the Office of Lifelong Learning prior to admission. You must hold a high school diploma or GED to apply as either a degree or non-degree student.
