Photoshop 101 – 1.2 CEUs
This is an introduction to digital photography through the use of Photoshop. Learn how to improve your picture taking skills by making the most of your digital camera features and understanding the basics of photographic composition. Enhance your photos through Photoshop by learning photo re-touching, tonal corrections, and proper methods for preparing images for digital output. You must provide your own digital camera.

iLife Essential Training –1.2 CEUs
If you have a Mac computer and iLife applications, would you like to learn how to better use iPhoto, iMovie, iWeb and iDVD? If so, this on-line course is for you. Each module will have a set of video tutorials and additional written information. Each unit will have required activity that participants will have to finish and submit. Each Module will have a discussion board, where you can exchange ideas and questions. All learning materials will be posted at once, at the beginning of the course, so that you can finish the course in the given three week time limit.

Non-Robotic Applications of Micro-Controllers – 1.8 CEUs
Microcontrollers have gained a great deal of interest and exposure with their use to control robots such as those used in FIRST competitions, Vex systems and battle-bots. However, these microcontrollers can be used for much more than controlling bots. This workshop will focus on using the Parallax microcontroller for applications such as creating toys, games, temperature controlled greenhouses, and home automation. No previous programming experience is necessary or knowledge of microcontrollers.

Programmable Logic Controllers – 1.8 CEUs
PLCs are the most widely used flexible control system used in a wide range of applications ranging from machine control, baggage handling systems, and amusement rides. Today's PLCs are very compact, sophisticated, and relatively low cost. This workshop will introduce the participant to the parts of a PLC, its functioning, interfacing, programming, and simulation using actual PLCs. Ideas for incorporating PLCs into a school curriculum will also be presented. Although helpful, participants do NOT need any prior experience in programming or electronics.

Know Your Trees –.5 CEUs
This one-day workshop will provide you with detailed training, knowledge, and hands-on practice on identifying trees. We will primarily use leaves but will look at other features to include bark, twigs, and fruit. Class will begin indoors reviewing some basic features of trees, identification clues, and examine a number of samples. Learn how to use a dichotomous key, an important tool in tree ID. The afternoon will be spent outside practicing what was reviewed during the morning session. No previous tree knowledge required.
