Classes begin Fall & Spring Sessions Annually
California University’s Arabic Language and Culture programs are designed to provide students with the skills and experiences that are needed in the job market.
Emphasis will be on reading, writing, and speaking in Modern Standard Arabic. Students also will have the option to learn the Egyptian and Levantine dialects. Objectives and subject matter cover cultural topics ranging from geography and religions to cuisine and multiculturalism.
Moreover, the available capstone courses are specifically designed to serve two significant purposes: 1) enhance Arabic language skills; and 2) gain a deeper appreciation of the Arabic culture.
Transfer your Defense Language Institute credits
Under an agreement with the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center, students who earn an associate degree in Modern Standard Arabic from the Defense Language Institute can transfer 45 credits toward a Bachelor of Arts degree in Arabic Language and Culture at Cal U.
