

Mission Statement
California University of Pennsylvania's Department of Nursing's global online MSN program in Nursing Administration and Leadership is aligned with the University's core values of Integrity, Civility, and Responsibility, and the mission of Building Character and Careers. The program is designed to prepare advanced practitioners in nursing administration and leadership who will address prevailing health and nursing issues, have a comprehensive understanding of and beginning competence in nursing research, and have a foundation for doctoral study in nursing. The program will prepare competent women and men to provide expert administration and leadership in the care and delivery of healthcare services and programs to individuals, families, and groups across the lifespan in a variety of acute care and community settings. Graduates will be prepared to practice as nurse administrators and leaders with the critical thinking skills and knowledge needed to promote the profession of nursing through guiding clinical practice, teaching, research, program development and implementation, and scholarship. The MSN in Nursing Administration and Leadership program is designed to prepare nurse administrators and leaders to respond effectively to today's dynamic healthcare environment.
Program Goals
The Master of Science in Nursing Administration and Leadership program will:
- Provide the requisite knowledge and skills for professional nurses to assume leadership roles in the administration of nursing and patient care services to improve the delivery of healthcare and the practice of nursing in interdisciplinary and multiculturally diverse environments.
- Prepare professional nurses with critical thinking, research, and theoretical knowledge in order to engage in scientific inquiry in the area of nursing administration and leadership.
- Prepare a foundation for certification in nursing administration.
- Provide a foundation for doctoral study.
