Earth Science: Current Student Resources
The Robert A. Vargo Earth Science Scholarship is awarded to a beginning senior during the subsequent fall term with an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The recipient must have a major in an earth science field including geology, earth sciences (all tracks) or environmental resources.
The Lawrence L. Moses Meteorology Scholarship is awarded to a beginning senior during the subsequent fall term majoring in meteorology with an overall grade point average of 3.25 or higher.
Sigma Gamma Epsilon: The National Honor Society for Earth Sciences Zeta Alpha Chapter
This society was established to recognize scholarship and professionalism in the earth sciences. Its objectives include the scholastic, scientific and professional advancement of its members and networking among other colleges and universities devoted to the advancement of the earth sciences.
The society was founded March 30, 1915, at the University of Kansas. Nearly 200 chapters throughout the United States have been installed since 1915. Sigma Gamma Epsilon is governed by student members and a legislative authority of student representatives and faculty advisers.
