Student Outcomes

By the time of graduation, Electrical Engineering Technology graduates will demonstrate:

  1. An ability to use knowledge, techniques, skills and modern tools including laboratory and test equipment in the electrical engineering technology discipline;

  2. An ability to use technical problem solving skills, including the ability to identify problems, conduct experiments, gather data, analyze data and produce results appropriate to electrical engineering technology;

  3. An ability to apply creativity in the design of systems, components, or processes for broadly-defined electrical engineering technology problems appropriate to program educational objectives;

  4. Effective discipline-related project management and teamwork skills;

  5. An ability to use technical literature, to produce written documents, to deliver oral presentations, to develop, prepare and interpret visual information; and to communicate these with various audiences at a level of effectiveness expected in industry;

  6. A recognition of the need for, and the ability to engage in self-directed continuing professional development;

  7. An understanding of and a commitment to address professional and ethical responsibilities including a respect for diversity;

  8. A knowledge of the impact of engineering technology solutions in a societal and global context;

  9. A knowledge of the application of physics and/or chemistry to electrical/electronic circuits in a rigorous mathematical environment at or above the level of algebra;

  10. An ability to analyze, design and implement instrumentation, control, and microprocessor systems through a blend of theoretical and practical methods; and

  11. An ability to apply mathematics including transform methods and applied differential equations in support of electrical/electronic systems.
