Robotics Engineering Technology: Careers
The Robotics Engineering Technology (RET) program at Cal U is a product of recent grant projects with the U.S. Department of Defense. It is anticipated that military ground troops will be upwards of 40% robotic in the near future. Outside of military applications, robotics is predicted to show a sharp increase in the demand for robotics support personnel ranging from technicians to engineering technologists and beyond. Both male and female roboticists will be needed in a variety of fields such as medical/ health care, transportation logistics, industrial/manufacturing, security/law enforcement and service industries, as well as household applications and entertainment.
Since the RET program is Mechatronics at its core, students will find employment in business and industry particularly in fields such as, packaging, manufacturing, assembly, inspection, design, and process control. These are prevent in all sectors and throughout the country, whether it be in Fortune 500 companies or those with a few employees. The recent surge in gas and oil production/ extraction has also created an increased need for individuals with the skills and knowledge acquired in this program.
Cal U prepares you to enter the workforce with knowledge, integrity, character and experience. With the help of the Career and Professional Development Center, we'll connect you to potential employers through networking events, job shadowing opportunities, on-campus recruiting, job and internship fairs, and organizational visits.
