Bachelor of Science in Education: Certification in Technology Education
Our technology education program prepares you for K-12 technology education teaching certification through the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). Technology education includes the study of selected technological systems that explore the solutions of technological problems and their associated social and environmental impacts.
The U.S. Department of Education designated our program as one of seven National Technology Education Demonstration Centers. It was also one of the first in the nation to be accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the International Technology Education Association's (ITEA) Council on Technology Teacher Education. We’ve earned an international reputation for excellence, having received the Outstanding Technology Teacher Education Program Award from the ITEA’s Council on Technology Teacher Education.
Cal U's demonstration center was conducted as part of the Appalachian Technology Education Consortium Project, which involved more than three dozen school districts in southwestern Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia.
