The University is seeking nominations for the Cal U Community Champions award.
The new award honors individuals who have made a significant contribution of time and/or talent to California University and its students.
University employees and current students are not eligible for this award. Cal U graduates may be nominated, but alumni status is not required. Although Cal U Community Champions are not part of the University's formal structure, this annual award will recognize their exemplary service in areas such as:
- Academic enrichment
- Research opportunities
- Internship opportunities
- Career development
Who is a Cal U Community Champion?
A potential champion may be:
- Someone who has devoted time and/or talent to benefit California University and its students.
- Someone who goes "above and beyond" to enhance the value of the Cal U experience, either inside or outside of the classroom.
- Someone whose leadership, commitment or service has made a positive impact on the University.
- Someone who has made a significant difference in the lives of Cal U students.
Nominate a Cal U Champion
Any current Cal U student or employee may nominate an individual to receive the Cal U Community Champions award. Your name and campus e-mail address are required.
Complete the online nomination form to suggest an award winner. Be sure to explain why this individual deserves to be recognized as a Cal U Community Champion. If submitting multiple nominations, please complete a separate online nomination form for each nominee.
All nominations will be evaluated by the Community Champions Committee, which will select the award winners. Each winner will receive a certificate suitable for framing.
