Gain Real-World Experience Through a Cal U Internship
- The Internship Center supports the University's Mission of building character and careers by linking students and employers for a mutually-beneficial experience. Students test-drive their careers, hone professional skills, build resumes, network, and gain an edge in the job market. Employers recruit quality, motivated interns, become a partner in education with Cal U, and have a cost-effective method of hiring potential employees. In the past five years, the number of internships has grown from 428 in 2004-2005 to 885 in 2009-2010. Students intern at diverse locations throughout the world, such as the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C.; "Late Show with David Letterman," New York; and Junior Professional Golf Association, Bhutan. According to the 2009 National Association of Colleges and Employers Experiential Education Survey, employers extended offers of full-time employment to an average of 67.7% of their interns.
