Civic Engagement

Center for Civic Engagement
The Center serves as a catalyst for students to connect with, build, and sustain meaningful service initiatives in partnership with communities surrounding California University and to enhance student learning and leadership development by engaging students in educationally purposeful and diverse co-curricular experiences.
Civic engagement is an integral component to the Cal U for Life initiative as it works to help you build both character and careers. Being able to give selflessly of your time as well as your talents to others in need is not only a gift to them, but to yourself as well. Treasure is measured not only in what we give but also in what we provide to other charitable efforts in our community.
Leader for Life – Capstone Project
Leader for Life is not a program or an event. It is a process for becoming a true leader for your entire life and preparing yourself for a great career. The final module of Leader for Life is to complete the Capstone Project, which includes a Service-Learning Project approved by the Director of the Center for Civic Engagement. If you do not have a project, the Center for Civic Engagement will guide you and help you find one that is most meaningful to you or search the online database to find an upcoming project. Once you have contacted the Center for Civic Engagement, been approved for and completed a service project, you will then submit your hours and a reflection.
Read the reflection paper instructions and track your completed service hours.
