Student Health Center

The Student Health Center is located on the ground floor of Carter Hall. The phone number is 724-938-4232. It is staffed by a medical director, nurse supervisor, certified registered nurse practitioner and registered nurses.

Staff hours

  • Medical director and physician available 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday
  • Gynecologist: 8 a.m.-noon Mondays by appointment only
  • Nurse supervisor: 7 a.m-3 p.m. Monday-Friday
  • Certified registered nurse practitioner: Monday-Friday (hours vary)
  • Nurse: On staff 24 hours a day, Monday-Friday, 7 p.m.-7a.m  ONLY., Saturday-Sunday

Summer Hours (May 21 - August 13)

  • 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday - Friday
  • Check the posted Health Center Calendar for Certified Nurse Practitioner and Medical Doctor hours (posted in the Health Center)
  • No weekend hours

Office of the Nurse Practitioner/Health and Wellness Educator

Fran Fayish is the nurse practitioner/educator at California University of Pennsylvania. She is the adviser to HEART (Health Education Awareness Resource Team). The office currently employs student workstudies and graduate assistants.. Some of the major services offered include, but are not limited to:

  • Drug and alcohol awareness
  • Nutritionist visits (monthly)
  • STD programming and clinics
  • Stress and body image events
  • Annual Health Fair
  • Other semester activities/events

“No Texting While Driving Public Service Announcement (PSA)” will be airing periodically on CUTV as a friendly reminder of this very serious issue. The PSA is in the rotation to air between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m. Mondays through Fridays while school is in session throughout the fall and spring semesters.
