CHECK OUT PROCEDURES: Before you leave, you must check out of your room with your GA or CA. They will complete a "Room Condition Report" which you must sign, and a copy will be returned to you. Failure to comply with this procedure relinquishes your right to be present when the damage assessment of your room is made. *FAILURE TO RETURN YOUR KEY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDED FEE OF $47.44 OR MORE ASSESSED TO YOU. IN ADDITION TO YOUR ROOM KEY, YOU MUST RETURN YOUR CALCARD ID HOLDER OR A CHARGE OF $20.00 WILL BE ASSESSED TO YOU.
PLEASE OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING RULES:
After you leave, your room will be checked by the Residence Hall Director; please observe the following points:
Carefully remove all stickers, tape, posters, pictures, etc. from the walls and ceiling.Take all your personal possessions from the room i.e., clothes, rugs, books, your own furniture, etc. Rugs must be removed from your room – place them at the designated area in the residence halls by Wednesday, May 2nd, if you wish to throw them away. The university is not responsible for any items left in your room.Remove all bottles, cans, lumber, foundation blocks, etc. from your room. Do not put lumber, rugs, or blocks in the halls or bathrooms.Close and secure all windows.Turn off your lights and lock your door before you leave. All residents are responsible for the room condition, even if one leaves before the other. Any damage will be assessed to all residents unless it is obvious only one resident is involved. This office will not accept the excuse "I left the room first and my roommate was supposed to clean it". All residents are responsible!Under no circumstances will furniture that is fixed (bolted to the walls) be moved. If you do move this furniture, you will pay for having it reattached and you will have to make other housing arrangements off campus. ALL BUNK BEDS MUST BE UNBUNKED AND INSTALL THE LEGS ON THE BEDS ($23.74 maintenance charge if you fail to do this). See staff if you have difficulty unbunking beds.
DINE DOLLARS REMINDER: Any unused dine dollars will be forfeited after May 11th. Look for take home specials at the Flatz. Any unused shop dollars will carry over to the next semester.
CHANGE OF ADDRESS INFORMATION: PLEASE NOTE – Please complete a change of address card if you will not be on campus this summer and want your mail forwarded somewhere other than your permanent address.
You can obtain this card from the Housing Office, located in Building B (room 117). International students who will not be on campus this summer must notify the Housing Office (4444) of any address change so we can forward your mail to that address instead of your home country.
SUMMER HOUSING: If you need on campus housing for summer, you should report to the Housing Office before the end of the semester. Space is limited, so the summer housing sign up procedure has been changed. Walk-in housing requests on the first day of classes can only be honored, as space is available. We anticipate that there will not be single rooms available.
FALL HOUSING: There is still a limited amount of space still available for upper-class students who wish to live on campus. If interested, please stop by the Housing Office in Building B if you haven't done so already. For more information, contact the Housing Office at ext. 4444.
ATTENTION – ALL FRESHMEN STUDENTS WHO ENTERED DURING THE FALL 2011/SPRING 2012 ACADEMIC YEAR. All freshmen who entered during the Fall 2011/Spring 2012 Academic Year and continue enrollment, are required by the University to reside in University Housing for the first four semesters of their college career as stated on the Housing Acceptance Letter, the back of your Housing Contract, the University Undergraduate Handbook, at Orientation, and Open Houses.
