For health and safety concerns, the following items are prohibited in the residence halls. Students who possess them will be asked to send them home, and may be subject to conduct action.
Air conditioners
Appliances with coils, open elements or hot oil
Candles
Contact (George Foreman type) grills
Dart boards
Double-sided foam tape, adhesive wall hooks, masking tape, duct tape, screws, nails, etc. may not be used on walls. You will be billed for any damage
Electric heaters
Firearms/weapons (including BB and paintball guns; knives)
Fireworks
Halogen lamps
Hot plates
Incense
Permitted small appliances (i.e. iron, blow dryer, curling iron, coffeemaker, etc.) should be equipped with automatic shut-off feature
Pets (except small fish in a tank less than 10 gallons)
Possession of alcohol or illegal drugs on university property is prohibited
