Transportation Essentials

Regular bus service is available to the lower campus through the Mid Mon Valley Transit Authority (MMVTA). The service is free of charge for California University of Pennsylvania students with a valid CalCard.  There is a nominal fee for nonstudents to use the service.

Students are able to ride any of the bus routes operated by the Mid Mon Valley Transit Authority.  For complete schedule details, refer to the MMVTA website at www.mmvta.com.  For more information, call MMVTA at 724-489-0880.

Park and Ride

Commuters and guests of the University who wish to avoid parking on the lower campus are urged to use the Park and Ride lot across the street from Vulcan Village.

Transportation to Pittsburgh Hubs

Students on busThe Office of Student Affairs and the Student Association Inc. sponsor transportation for students between main campus and these transportation hubs:

  • Pittsburgh International Airport
  • Pittsburgh Greyhound bus station
  • Pittsburgh Amtrak train station

The service is available only on certain dates each semester and at Thanksgiving.  Students must arrange for transportation seven days in advance. Read more about transportation to Pittsburgh hubs or contact Tomas Donovan at 724.938.5667.
