Computer Requirements
In order to attend classes online, you will need a high speed internet connection and modern computer. Our online courses are delivered over a system called Desire2Learn. Please run their system check on your computer.
Minimum System Requirements
In order to make the most of your online learning experience, there are several technical requirements you will need to fulfill. Refer to the guidelines below to help ensure your online success:
Microsoft Windows
- Windows XP, Vista, or 7
- 1GB RAM
- High speed internet connection (Cable, DSL, FiOS)
- Working soundcard and speakers/headphones
- One of the following browsers with Java enabled: Firefox 3.5 (recommended), Internet Explorer 7 / 8 (supported)
Macintosh
- Mac OS X (Tiger 10.4 and above)
- 1GB RAM
- High speed internet connection (Cable, DSL, FiOS)
- Working soundcard and speakers/headphones
- One of the following browsers with Java enabled: Firefox 3.5, Safari 5
It is recommended that you have the latest version of Adobe Flash* installed, Adobe Reader, QuickTime, and Windows Media Components (for Macintosh users). Some professors may require you to download additional software to complete course work.
*Note about Apple products: Macintosh computers (Mac Pro, Macbook, iMac) do support Flash. Only Apple's mobile devices (iPhone, iPad) do not.
