AAA Roadside Assistance Program

Don't worry about breaking down on the road while you're a student at Cal U. Part of the basic service of each student CalCard is the AAA Roadside Assistance program. With this program, Cal U students can receive two free limited Roadside Assistance calls from AAA during the academic year (fall and spring semesters). The service includes up to three miles free towing, tire changing, jump-starting and similar routine emergencies.

How can service be obtained?

Emergency roadside assistance can be obtained by call 1-800-407-5999.  The AAA Roadside Assistance identification number is your University e-mail address.

What are the requirements?

The student must be with the vehicle at the time the service is provided.  Except situations involving a highway emergency, service cannot be provided to unattended vehicles.

Is the student at risk for damage?

Before servicing any vehicle when there is possibility of damage to the vehicle or other property as a result of the work, a service representative shall inform the student that the student must assume the risk of damage. Any such circumstance should be fully recorded on a release form. While AAA-affiliated stations are selected to provide the best emergency roadside assistance to students, such garages are independent contractors and are not agents of AAA. AAA assumes no responsibility for any injuries to person or property - including damage to student vehicles - as result of an emergency roadside assistance request. AAA will make every effort to effect a settlement to a student's claim for damages resulting from an affiliate station rending emergency roadside assistance.
