Registration

Registration continues. Cost is $75 for faculty and $40 for graduate students and members of the community. Meals are $20.

Keynote speaker: Author Tawni O'Dell

O'Dell grew up in Indiana, Pa., and has written four novels set against the backdrop of the western Pennsylvania coal-mining region. Her fifth novel, One of Us, will be published later this summer.

Her first novel, Back Roads, was an Oprah’s Book Club pick and a Book-of-the-Month Club Main Selection.  It is being made into a film, for which she wrote the screenplay. She also has contributed to several anthologies, including Becoming Myself: Reflections on Growing Up Female. Her work has been published in more than 40 countries.

She graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in journalism, worked as a reporter, and lived in the Chicago area for 13 years before moving back to Pennsylvania 11 years ago. Her daughter lives and works in New York City and her son attends college in California.

Visitor parking is available in the Vulcan Garage, off Third Street near the campus entrance.
