Superheroes will be on parade at Cal U’s annual Homecoming celebration. A full week of activities leads up to The President’s Showcase and the annual Homecoming Parade, football game and crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen.

Homecoming 2015 logoMonday, Oct. 19

Bingo for cash, 9 p.m. in the food court, Natali Student Center. Students only are eligible to win $1,000 in cash prizes.

Tuesday, Oct. 20

Homecoming Court announcement, 11:30 a.m. in the Heritage Lounge rotunda, Natali Student Center. Special guest is singer-songwriter Jake Robertson. Get your free Homecoming giveaways!

Wednesday, Oct. 21:

Cal U Hockey Night at Rostraver Ice Garden, off Route 51 near Belle Vernon. Game 1 begins at 3:30 p.m., followed by a public skate with Iceburgh, the Pittsburgh Penguins’ mascot, and Penguins Ian Cole, Phil Bourque, Bryan Trottier, Warren Young and Troy Loney.  Game 2 begins at 7:30. 

Thursday, Oct. 22

Superhero Underground Café, 9 p.m. in the Energy Zone, Natali Student Center. Join us for some great entertainment!

Friday, Oct. 23

The President’s Showcase: ‘Our Showcase of Stars,’ 7:30 p.m. in Steele Hall Mainstage Theatre. Cal U’s most talented students, faculty, staff and alumni take the stage for an evening of first-class entertainment. Ticket price is $10; admission is free for students with valid CalCards.

Saturday, Oct. 24:

Pre-parade activities, 10 a.m.-noon on campus. Have fun with inflatables, a petting zoo and a balloon man, or visit tables set up by various clubs and organizations.

Picnic on the Patio, 11 a.m. at the Kara Alumni House. Alumni and their guests are invited to enjoy picnic fare and socialize with friends and former classmates.

Homecoming Parade, noon, starts and ends on campus. Traditional floats and marching units have a “Superheroes” theme; the Vulcan women’s basketball team, winners of the 2015 NCAA National Championship join the parade lineup.

Vulcan Huddle tailgate, 1:30 p.m. at Roadman Park. Mingle with friends before the game in the picnic area (near the pavilions) outside Adamson Stadium.

Homecoming football game, 3 p.m. at Adamson Stadium. Watch the Vulcans take on the Clarion Golden Eagles. Halftime show features the Cal U Marching Band and crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen.

Register to take part in Homecoming

Groups and organizations can register now to offer pre-parade activities on Oct. 24 or to join the lineup for the annual Homecoming Parade.


Parking and shuttles

Free visitor parking is available Oct. 24 in Lot 4 (the River Lot) and from 8 a.m.-11 p.m. in the Vulcan Garage. Certain roads in town will be closed for the parade and shuttles will run from the main campus to Roadman Park.
