Former Cal U student and rising Nashville star Brynn Marie returns to Cal U for a Homecoming concert at 8 p.m. Oct. 12 in Steele Hall Mainstage Theatre.
A native of Carmichaels, Pa., and a former member of the Cal U Dance Team, she toured this summer with the Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo/Cheap Trick show.
Brynn Marie describes herself as “a country artist, with rock and pop elements.” She got her start singing with her family’s Christian praise band, and she later played for U.S. troops in the Middle East on a USO tour that took her to Dubai, Bahrain and Kuwait.
She describes her debut single, “Bandaid on a Bullet Hole,” as “something people can dance to, women can relate to.”
“It’s an ‘I Am Woman’ song,” she told theboot.com, “but men can totally rock, too. It’s me.”
Admission to the Homecoming concert is free, but registration is required. Register now or visit the Convocation Center Box Office during regular hours, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Free parking will be available in the Vulcan Garage from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Oct. 12.
Vulcan Flyer shuttles will operate until 11 p.m.
Cal U has a complete schedule of Homecoming activities planned for the week of Oct. 6-12. Highlights include:
Oct. 7 — Cal U Hockey Night at Rostraver Gardens
Oct. 11 — Athletic Hall of Fame Dinner
Oct. 12 — Homecoming Parade and Vulcan football game
