Dr. Lisa McBride is the Special Assistant to the President for EEEO/University Ombudsperson at Cal U. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and her Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Criminology from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Dr. McBride previously held positions as an Associate Professor of Criminology within the Florida University system. She is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a County Mediator in the State of Florida, and certified by the State of Florida Commission on Police Officer Standards and Training as a Human Diversity Instructor. Her experience and qualifications range from designing and administering campus climate assessment surveys to conducting mediation sessions for corporations faced with workplace conflict involving discrimination and diversity.

Dr. McBride began her career as a police officer with the St. Louis Police Department in Missouri, and then transitioned to eight years as a federal criminal investigator, to include working as an overseas undercover operative in various international countries.  She is experience as an impartial dispute resolution practitioner around issues of promotion, salary inequity, evaluation disputes, sexual harassment, and other issues regarding employment. Dr. McBride developed, implemented, and assessed university-wide diversity policies and related initiatives, and possesses the ability to facilitate cooperation and consensus through education, negotiation and mediation.

Dr. McBride's scholarship draws from culturally responsive education pedagogy to examine issues of diversity in U.S. higher education. Her upcoming research institutionalized at Cal U will focus on recruiting and retaining men of color.

Gena is the Assistant Director for the office and a sixteen-year employee of the University. She earned an Associate of Science degree in Business with a concentration in Information Technology and is working on Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources Management. Additionally, she is the department webmaster, a Navy Reservist, a lifetime member of Phi Sigma Pi honorary fraternity and a recipient of the President's Commission for the Status of Women's Woman of the Year award for her support of women on campus and in the community.  She is responsible for producing the annual Affirmative Action Plan, oversees the Social Equity component of the hiring process and and training.

Alisha is the first point of contact for the office and the glue that holds it all together.  She has a Master's Degree in Legal Studies.  As the first point of contact, Alisha schedules all appointments and takes intake statements for the assistant director and special assistant.  She is also actively involved in Cal U's new mentoring group Cal U Men United, whose mission is to provide a campus community that will support the growth, development, and achievement of young men of color as they strive to become men of character prepared to take an active role in the global community.  In addition to her numerous other duties in the office, Alisha is the proud parent of a future Cal U student.
