Social Equity: Required Annual Training

Because California University of Pennsylvania and the Office of Social Equity are committed to creating a safe, secure campus that is free from discrimination, all students and employees are required to complete annual Social Equity training. The mandatory online courses must be completed between July 1 and June 30 each year.

Complete the training

Online training is provided by WORKPLACE ANSWERS. Each student and employee will receive e-mail from WORKPLACE ANSWERS with course access and login details.  Or, you can follow the steps below to access your WORKPLACE ANSWERS account:

Step 1:  Log on at: https://slate.workplaceanswers.com/calu/
Step 2:  Enter your last name and your full Cal U email address ONLY
Step 3:  Follow the prompts to complete the training

The training does not have to be completed in one sitting. WORKPLACE ANSWERS will save your work, so you can complete it at a later time. You will continue to receive reminder e-mails from WORKPLACE ANSWERS until all your required annual training is completed.

Once you have completed each course, print out the Certificate of Completion for your records.  WORKPLACE ANSWERS will retain your courses, records and certificates, so you can access them at any time during the fiscal year.

What training must I complete?

ALL STUDENTS

All undergraduate and graduate students must complete these courses:
  • Alcohol Abuse Prevention for Higher Education (Students)
  • The Clery Act and Campus Security Authorities
  • Preventing Discrimination and Sexual Violence: Title IX and the SaVE Act (Students)

ALL FACULTY

All faculty members must complete these courses:

  • EEO Laws and Discrimination Prevention for Higher Education
  • Preventing Discrimination and Sexual Violence Title IX and the SaVE Act (Faculty and Staff)
  • The Clery Act and Campus Security Authorities
  • Unlawful Harassment Prevention for Higher Education (Faculty)

ALL FACULTY SUPERVISORS

All faculty supervisors must complete courses for “All Faculty,” AS WELL AS this course:

  • EEO Laws and Discrimination Prevention for Higher Education (Supervisor Supplement)

ALL STAFF

All staff members must complete these courses:

  • EEO Laws and Discrimination Prevention for Higher Education
  • Preventing Discrimination and Sexual Violence Title IX and the SaVE Act (Faculty and Staff)
  • The Clery Act and Campus Security Authorities
  • Unlawful Harassment Prevention for Higher Education (Non-supervisors only)

ALL STAFF SUPERVISORS

All staff supervisors must complete courses for “All Staff,” AS WELL AS these courses:

  • EEO Laws and Discrimination Prevention for Higher Education (Supervisor Supplement)
  • Unlawful Harassment Prevention for Higher Education (Staff Supervisors only)

DESIGNATED CAMPUS SECURITY AUTHORITY (CSA)

If you are a designated Campus Security Authority (CSA), you are required to complete mandatory annual training.
