Social Equity: Required Annual Training
The Pennsylvania System of Higher Education (PASSHE), California University of Pennsylvania (CAL U), and the Office of Social Equity are committed to creating a safe, secure campus that is free from discrimination. In doing so, all students and all employees are required to complete various annual training courses to be in compliance with Pennsylvania and federal laws. These mandatory trainings are to be complete each Fiscal Year (July 1 - June 30).

- LawRoom: EDU: Protect Children (Pennsylvania) Training - All Employees and All CAL U Student Employees
- Cornerstone OnDemand Learning Mangement System - All Employees and All CAL U Student Employees
- Campus Security Authority (CSA) - All University designated CSA's

What training must I complete?
WorkPlace Answers (All Students)
All Students: Office of Social Equity annual required training via WorkPlace Answers (WPA)
Online training is provided by WorkPlace Answers. Each student will receive e-mail from WorkPlace Answers with course access and login details. Or, you can follow the steps below to access your WorkPlace Answers account:
Step 1: Log on at: https://slate.workplaceanswers.com/calu/
Step 2: Enter your last name and your full Cal U email address ONLY
Step 3: Follow the prompts to complete the training
All undergraduate and graduate students (traditional and non-traditional and campus-wide and online) must complete these WorkPlace Answers (WPA) courses:
- The Clery Act and Campus Security Authorities
- Student Empower Plus
The training does not have to be completed in one sitting. WorkPlace Answers will save your work, so you can complete it at a later time. You will continue to receive reminder e-mails from WorkPlace Answers until all your required annual training is completed.
Once you have completed each course, print out the Certificate of Completion for your records. WorkPlace Answers will retain your courses, records and certificates, so you can access them at any time during the fiscal year.
NOTE: To log in, enter your Last Name only and your full Cal U email address (email@example.com). Depending on your computer set-up, the WPA courses may open in a minimized screen. If this occurs, click on the Maximize Button to enlarge your internet screen. If you are unable to see the whole training course box, use Ctrl and + or – (to adjust the zoom on the browser) until you can view the entire box.

LawRoom: EDU: Protect Children (Pennsylvania) Training (All Employees & All Student Employees)
All Employees and CAL U Student Employees: Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) Mandated Reporter LawRoom training
LawRoom: EDU: Protect Children (Pennsylvania) Training has been vetted by the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) and the collective bargaining units representing employees on our campus. All individuals on PASSHE's payroll, including universities employees (management, faculty, staff, as well as student employees: work-study students, paid interns, graduate assistants, etc.) are required to complete this training course annually. If you are active on CAL U’s payroll, then you are in the LawRoom system.
PASSHE does NOT accept any other training as a replacement for completing this course. The LawRoom system will email each employee with their personal login password and course link and likewise will email monthly reminders until the course is completed.
NOTE: LawRoom's training system’s requires internet via Chrome, Firefox, IE 10 or 11 and runs on HTML5. If you are having trouble accessing your LawRoom training, contact UTech Services (724-938-5911) to have your pc updated and/or try accessing the training from another computer.
Campus Security Authority (University designated CSA Employees and Students)
Designated Campus Security Authority (CSA) training
If the university designates you as a Campus Security Authority (CSA), you are required to complete mandatory annual training.
