Faculty Professional Development Center: Academic Excellence Days
6th Annual Academic Excellence Days Event
Connecting Faculty and Students through Academic Achievement
April 24 & 25, 2012
Natali Performance Center
California University of Pennsylvania faculty members are invited to submit faculty and faculty-student collaboration presentation proposals for this year’s Academic Excellence Days event. [Note: The call for student-only presentation proposals, including posters, will be sent at a later date by the FPDC’s Research and Service and Service-Learning subcommittees. Faculty members should advise their students to watch the announcements for an invitation to present.]
This year’s theme is “Connecting Faculty and Students through Academic Achievement.” Cal U has always provided faculty members and students alike numerous opportunities to achieve excellence in their academic pursuits related to teaching, learning, research, service and service learning, grants, technology, or leadership. This year’s AED event encourages faculty members and students to connect with one another and the larger Cal U community by sharing their academic achievements.
Faculty members are invited to submit proposals for a variety of session formats, including:
- workshops, individual and group, that encourage “learning through doing”
- presentations, individual and group, including papers and lectures, with time for discussion
- panel discussions and roundtables
- poster presentations on service/service-learning or research projects
- creative performances, individual and group
Presentations will take place on both days of the event. Tuesday sessions are 75 minutes in length and Wednesday sessions are 50 minutes in length, following the same schedule as classes. The first sessions will begin at 8 a.m. and the final regular sessions will end by 3:30.
To submit a proposal, visit the following website address by midnight, March 18, 2012, to electronically provide the requested information:
