The purpose of this funding is to provide professional development that is required to gain expertise in – to learn – innovative methods of teaching that improve student learning outcomes. The funding categories included in the Request for Proposal for this competition include:

PASSHE Faculty Professional Development Council (FPDC)
2014-2015 Annual Grant
The PASSHE Faculty Professional Development Council defines professional development as the acquisition of knowledge and/or development of skills related to some aspect of the faculty member's professional responsibilities. This Annual Grant Program is intended to provide professional growth opportunities for individual faculty although some categories in the RFP allow for teams or groups of faculty.
The funding categories included in the Request for Proposal for this competition include:
Joint Faculty-Student Research
Joint Faculty-Student Public Service
Creative and Performing Arts
Individual Career Enhancement
The maximum funding amount per project is $10,000 and Cal U is able to submit 16 proposals! Grant writers submitting a proposal will have the opportunity to have their proposal reviewed by a Quality Circle Review (QCR) team based on the actual review system to identify areas of the proposal that can be improved and eliminate possible errors. All QCRs will be conducted from December 1-5, 2014. Applicants participating in the QCR will have the opportunity to revise and improve their proposal prior to final submission.

Cal U may apply for up to three (3) $1,000 Wellness Promotion Grants.
Health Awareness Grant - A $1,000 matching grant for campus-wide wellness and prevention activities
such as wellness fairs and single topic wellness sessions. Grant applications must include documentation of
dollar-for-dollar matches from campus or community organizations. The funded activities must include faculty participation.
Healthy Lifestyle Grant - A $1,000 grant to fund risk reduction activities that include at least six (6) hours of programming and include faculty participation. Topics that qualify for grants include, but are not limited to, the following: weight reduction, smoking cessation, healthy eating, exercise and stress reduction.
