Faculty Professional Development Programs and Activities Related to Innovation in Teaching and Improvement of Student Learning Outcomes FY 2014-2015

The purpose of this funding is to provide professional development that is required to gain expertise in – to learn – innovative methods of teaching that improve student learning outcomes. The funding categories included in the Request for Proposal for this competition include:

 Classroom Engagement and Active Learning Strategies
Critical Thinking and Inquiry Strategies
Professional and Experiential Learning Strategies
  Persistence, Retention, and Degree Completion Strategies
Assessment to Improve Learning and Students’ Experience Strategies
  Teaching and Learning with Technology Strategies
  Adapting Teacher Education Programs
  Conferences/Webinars

 

The maximum funding amount per project is $10,000 and Cal U is able to submit 2 proposals!

Final Proposal Deadline*
February 23, 2015

If applicant desires a Quality Circle Review, Deadline* is
January 21, 2015.
Faculty will then edit and resubmit by February 23, 2015

PASSHE Faculty Professional Development Council (FPDC)

2014-2015 Annual Grant

The PASSHE Faculty Professional Development Council defines professional development as the acquisition of knowledge and/or development of skills related to some aspect of the faculty member's professional responsibilities.  This Annual Grant Program is intended to provide professional growth opportunities for individual faculty although some categories in the RFP allow for teams or groups of faculty. 

The funding categories included in the Request for Proposal for this competition include:

Joint Faculty-Student Research

Scholarly Research

Joint Faculty-Student Public Service

Creative and Performing Arts

Individual Career Enhancement

The maximum funding amount per project is $10,000 and Cal U is able to submit 16 proposals! Grant writers submitting a proposal will have the opportunity to have their proposal reviewed by a Quality Circle Review (QCR) team based on the actual review system to identify areas of the proposal that can be improved and eliminate possible errors.  All QCRs will be conducted from December 1-5, 2014.  Applicants participating in the QCR will have the opportunity to revise and improve their proposal prior to final submission.
