Preparing for Finals
The end of an academic year is very busy for students. With final exams looming, yours may be feeling a bit stressed, especially if they are unsure of their test preparation skills. When it comes to final exams, here are some key tips for student success. Read More
When Is Your Last Final?
When making arrangements to bring your college student home, knowing their exam schedule will help. Final exams are not held on the same days or times as the regular class meeting times throughout the semester. Spring 2013 exams are scheduled for Saturday, May 11th, and beginning Monday, May 13th after 4:00 p.m. through Friday, May 14th. Students should carefully review the final exam schedule to ensure they know the day and times for their exams. Final grades will be available to students in VIP (Vulcan Information Portal) beginning Wednesday, May 22. If a grade is not posted within a week, your student should contact the professor of the class. Spring 2013 Final Exam Schedule
Final Exam Care Packages
It’s hard to believe that the end of spring semester is upon us and finals week is just around the corner. A great way to remind your student that “I’m thinking of you” is with a Fresh from
Home care package. These packages are perfect for finals week, especially when your student misses a meal, has the late night munchies, or is burning the midnight oil. You can use the order form or call 724-938-1602 to send a “Fresh from Home”package!
Parking Permits and Renewal
For current students, all semester and academic year parking permits can be renewed for Fall 2013 semester now through May 30, 2013. Parking permits are considered University property. If your student is not returning or is moving off-campus, the permit must be returned to the Office of Parking and Transportation, located in Manderino Library, Room 123. Note: Failure to return the parking permit may result in a hold being placed on a student’s account. New Fall 2013 incoming students may register for parking once they have received their Cal U email login/password and have registered for classes. For more information, visit Parking at Cal U or contact the Parking and Transportation Office at 724-938-4677.
Textbook Rental and Buyback
The campus Bookstore will buy back textbooks and process returns on rented books beginning Monday, May 6th through Friday, May 17th. For Rental Check In’s, students must know the name of the person the textbooks were rented under as well as the telephone number that was used to set up the account. Cal U Bookstore
Buy Back Hours:
Monday, May 6th through Friday, May 17th
Monday - Thursday 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Packing Up and Moving Out
Students must be checked out of residence halls within 24 hours of their last final exam unless they are participating in Commencement exercises (Band, Choir) during the weekend. You may be wondering how you’re going to get all your student’s belongings home! Perhaps you don’t need to.Local storage facilities can be the answer for housing those bulky items over the summer. Two or three students might consider sharing the space and splitting the costs, making it an even more affordable option.
Cal U Summer College offers more than 200 credit courses, both online and on campus. This is a great opportunity for your student to catch up, stay on track, or get ahead. Current Cal U students do not have to apply for summer school. They simply may register online through VIP. For more information, view the 2013 Summer College Guide, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 724-938-4407.
