There is a distinct difference between the Women’s Center and the Women’s Studies Program. Although each area has similar missions of exploring gender and women’s issues, the Women’s Studies Program is a unique discipline in academia. The minor in Women’s Studies provides students with a framework for examining women’s and men’s lives within individual, familial, national, and global systems. The Women’s Center serves as a vital resource for activism and change, resource referrals, and programming. Women’s Center staff members are knowledgeable in women’s leadership, body image, self-esteem building, and feminist activism.
