Recently a change has been made to the age requirement for a flu shot at a retail pharmacy.  Now any child age 9 or older may receive a no-cost flu shot at a participating retail pharmacy.  (Previously, it was limited to adults age 18 or older.)  No appointment is necessary and the member only needs to present their ID card.

Participating retail pharmacies by member group:

·       PASSHE Highmark PPO:  CVS, Eckerd Corp., Giant Eagle, K-Mart Pharmacies, Rite Aid, Shop & Save Pharmacy, Target, The Medicine Shoppe, The Medicine Stop, Thrift Drug, Inc., and Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy.

·       PASSHE UPMC HMO:  Rite Aid.  UPMC HMO members can obtain a flu shot at any pharmacy or clinic, for which a claim form can be submitted along with a receipt             to UPMC for reimbursement.

·       PEBTF Members:  Any pharmacy that participates in the CVS Caremark Flu Shot Network, which includes most chain pharmacies such as CVS, Giant Eagle, Target and Rite Aid.  You must present your CVS/Caremark Rx Member ID card.

If your local pharmacy is not listed above, it is recommended that you call the member services number on the back of your ID card to verify their participation.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns you may contact me at extension 4427 or balla@calu.edu.
