Here’s how you can get three seminars done in one morning:

 

Register for the conference, and choose the sessions you want to attend.  Then write a summary of each session for your Livetext portfolio, and you’ll get credit for them.  This will help you fulfill your Admission to Teacher Education requirements.  And it won’t cost you anything.  This conference is free for Cal U undergraduate students.

Time:  9:00 am to 12:30 pm

Place:  California University of PA Convocation Center

Cost:  $30 (Free for Cal U Undergraduate Students)

Lunch:  Optional lunch at 12:30 is $20

 

What does our conference have to offer?  Take a look!

 

q Fifteen sessions, on a variety of topics: higher-order thinking, thoughtful literacy, collaboration, technology in the classroom, RtII, Reading Recovery, authentic learning, body/brain connections, and special education initiatives, among others.

 

q All grade levels --- Pre-K through High school --- are represented.

 

q Dr. Richard Allington, past president of the International Reading Association and prolific author and researcher, is the keynote speaker.

 

q Optional Author lunch --- For $20 extra, join Dr. Allington for lunch and conversation.  Lunch is limited to 25 people, so you’ll have the opportunity to get to know this dynamic and thought-provoking speaker.

 

q Seminar credit  --- If you are a California University Teacher Education student, and you attend two workshops and the keynote speaker session, you can earn three seminar credits to add to your Livetext portfolio.

 

q Act 48 credit is available for all certified teachers.

 

q Continental Breakfast and Snacks are provided free of charge.
