Help Others, Donate Blood!
Every 2 seconds, someone needs a blood transfusion.
38% of the population is eligible to donate blood.
One blood donation could save up to 3 LIVES!
The human body contains about 10 pints of blood. One is taken in the donation process.
So why not donate?
The American Red Cross Blood Drive will be held on Tuesday October 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Natali 206/207.
Don't want to wait in line? Make an appointment on our E-Donor site!
Have you been deferred for low iron and want to donate?
Try eating some of these foods before you donate to raise your iron levels.
- Red meat
- Egg yolks
- Dark, leafy greens (spinach, collards)
- Dried fruit (prunes, raisins)
- Iron-enriched cereals and grains (check the labels)
- Beans, lentils, chick peas and soybeans
