TIPS FOR A SUCCESFUL FIELD EXPERIENCE
Spring 2013
1) Clearances
a. all four required clearances Act 24, 34, 114, 151 must be valid throughout entire semester & electronically submitted by January 18, 2013 to fieldexperiences@calu.edu
b. include in subject line your name & course number i.e. Smith, Tom ELE 200
c. apply immediately if your clearances are not valid throughout entire semester.
Child Abuse clearance takes 6-8 weeks

d. you must drop the class if valid clearances are not submitted by January 18, 2013 NO exceptions
2) Scheduling—hints
a. take only one field class a semester
b. do not schedule classes in or around blocked courses
c. leave ample time in your schedule to complete field hours
3) Placements
a. communication is via email-Check email often & respond promptly to all inquiries (including during holiday breaks)
b. placements will be within 30 miles of address submitted
c. you are responsible for your own transportation
