Robert Downey, Chief/Director of University Police, has announced his resignation from California University. Since joining the University community in 2010, Chief Downey has served Cal U well, and under his leadership the California University Police Department has thrived. We wish him well in his new role as chief of the Green Tree Borough Police Department.
With Chief Downey’s departure, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Lieutenant Michael Miles as Interim Chief/Director of University Police, effective January 14, 2013. Lt. Miles has been a member of the Cal U Police Department since 1998 and I am confident that he will continue to provide superior service to the University.
Please join me in welcoming Lt. Miles to his new role and give him your full cooperation as he continues his work on behalf of our University.
