The 2nd Annual German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge testing will

be held on the campus of California University of Pennsylvania &

at the Westmoreland County Community College Public Safety Training Center

in Smithton, Pa.

The testing is open to all currently serving military personnel, to include R.O.T.C.

The testing will begin on Saturday April 27, 2013 and will end with a graduation

tentatively scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday April 28, 2013 in the Performance Center of the Natali Student Center.

The service members who successfully complete the testing and meet the standards

will be awarded either the Gold, Silver, or Bronze German Armed Forces Badge for

Military Proficiency, awarded by a member of the German military.

In 2012, more than 70 service members competed for the GAFPB.  Members from the United States Army,

United States Army Reserve, Pennsylvania Army National Guard, United States Marine Corps, Army R.O.T.C.,

and Air Force R.O.T.C. participated. This event is possible through the support of the Office of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Club, Cal U Army R.O.T.C., Office of Student Affairs, Athletics, Herron Recreation and Fitness Center,

Campus & Grounds, University Police, and Office of Marketing and University Relations

and generous donations and volunteers.
