CAL U TO HOLD AUDITIONS FOR ITS NEW HOLIDAY SHOW

 

Miracle on 34th Street, The Musical

 

Actors-Singers-Dancers needed

 

California University’s Department of Theatre and Dance, along with Mon Valley Dance

Council, will audition performers on Saturday, September 7th for its new holiday show.

Miracle on 34th Street is based on the 20th Century Fox film. Book, music and lyrics

are by Meredith Willson, of The Music Man fame. The auditions will be held in Steele

Hall on the campus of California University of Pennsylvania. Miracle on 34th Street,

The Musical will be performed December 5th through the 8th on the Mainstage Theatre.

Male and female performers of all ages will be considered. The production team is in

need of dancer only and actor/singer/dancers of all ages. Dancers should dress

appropriately and bring all shoes. Actor/Singer/Dancers should come prepared to

dance and should prepare a selection from musical theatre between 16 and 32 bars in

length.

 

 

DANCER ONLY (AGES 6 THROUGH ADULT)

10AM-NOON

Must be there at 9:30am to fill out paperwork.

Come dressed to move and with all shoes.

Could also be considered for the ensemble; must also attend that scheduled

audition time.

Paraders (strong dancers, no singing/acting required)

 

 

SUSAN

10AM-NOON

Must be there at 9:30 to fill out paperwork.

Bring sheet music (no a capella singing or recorded accompaniment)

Character description--a young girl who is city smart and wise beyond her years.

Actor/singer/dancer needed.

MAY BE ASKED TO ATTEND A CALLBACK AT 4PM.

 

 

CHILDREN'S ENSEMBLE (ACTOR-SINGER-DANCERS AGED 5-12)

11AM-1PM

Must be there at 10:30 to fill out paperwork.

Bring sheet music (no a capella singing or recorded accompaniment); bring clothes and

shoes for the dance portion.

Actor/singer/dancers between the ages of 5 and 12 are needed. There are

several musical numbers involving these children.

MAY BE ASKED TO ATTEND A CALLBACK AT 4PM.

 

 

TEEN AND ADULT ENSEMBLE

2PM-4PM

Must be there at 1:30 to fill out paperwork.

Bring sheet music (no a capella singing or recorded accompaniment); bring clothes and

shoes for the dance portion.

Strong dancers are needed for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. (No acting/

singing required)

Actor/singer/dancers needed to fill NYC streets, courtroom, Macy's store, etc.

Miracle on 34th Street, The Musical is directed by Dr. Michele A. Pagen, with

choreography by Maria Gismondi.
