Are you a faculty or staff member who interacts with Veterans and service members on campus or online?

Do you want to learn about specific programs available to Cal U Veterans and service members?

The Office of Veterans Affairs would like to invite you to attend the Fall 2013 Military & Veterans Awareness Training. An e-mail will be sent to departments who have been identified as having an increased level of interaction with Veterans and service members on campus and online. There are limited seats available for this training. First come, first serve. Contact Robert Prah at prah@calu.edu if you do not receive an email with the informational flyer.

WHO: Cal U Administrators, Faculty, Staff, Students

WHAT: Military & Veteran Awareness Training

WHEN: Thursday August 22nd, 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. & Friday August 23rd, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

WHERE: Natali Student Center, Room 206/207 (3rd Floor)

WHY: With an approximate 45% enrollment increase since fall 2012 in Military, Veterans, and Dependents attending Cal U main campus & Global Online, training for administrators, faculty and staff is critical in the recruiting and retention of our military & Veteran students. Certificates of completion will be provided to those who complete all 3 sessions.

HOW: Please register & RSVP by e-mailing veterans@calu.edu with your name, Department / Title, and with any specific questions you may have. There are 15-20 seats for Thursday and Friday. Snacks & drinks will be provided on Thursday & a continental style breakfast will be served on Friday.  For those who are unable to attend one day, you can attend either day in order to complete all 3 sessions. Please RSVP no later than Monday August 19, 2013, 1:00 p.m. An e-mail with updates will be sent prior to the training to participants.
