The October 10, 2013 meeting of the California University Civil War Roundtable will be held in the KARA-BOOKER GREAT ROOM in the Kara Alumni House.  Doors will open at 6:30pm and the meeting will start at 7:00pm.

Our guest speaker will be Mr. Erek Dorman, who was born and raised in Germany.  He attended Kalamazoo College in Michigan, majoring in history.  He now lives in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia where he is surrounded daily by Civil War history.

Mr. Dorman became a tour guide after 15 years of Civil War reenacting, and now offers interpretive tours of Civil War sites across Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania.  The web site for his tour operation can be found at: www.warpathtours.com.

The title of his talk is “The Shenandoah Valley in 1864” which will cover all three Federal commanders (Sigel, Hunter & Sheridan) and their task to eliminate Rebel resistance and deprive the South of its valley’s resources.

Anyone interested in Civil War History is welcome to attend.  For further information, email stonewall1863@comcast.net or call 724-258-3406.
