This is a reminder that the University will be closed on Friday, November 29, 2013. You may recall that the day after Thanksgiving is now the eleventh holiday for AFSCME-covered employees. The granting of this eleventh holiday has not been extended to managers or members of other bargaining units within the State System of Higher Education. Therefore, it will be necessary for you to use either annual, personal or compensatory leave for that day. The following represents the 2013 minor holidays which have been deferred to dates when the University is not at full operation.

Presidents’ Day (02-18-13) Tuesday, December 24, 2013 Christmas Day Wednesday, December 25, 2013 Columbus Day (10-14-13) Thursday, December 26, 2013 Veterans’ Day (11-11-13) Friday, December 27, 2013
If you were eligible for minor holiday(s) as they occurred, you are entitled to utilize them on the dates the offices are closed. If you did not earn the minor holiday(s), you will need to use annual or personal leave to get paid for them.
