Interdisciplinary Center for Environmental Studies - Intern Position
Background: The Interdisciplinary Center for Environmental Studies (ICES) is seeking an intern for spring semester, 2014. This position is open to all students regardless of major/concentration and class standing. ICES was conceived as a vehicle to foster and advance interdisciplinary and collaborative scholarship, learning and service throughout the University and with the regional schools and community members.
Position Description: This is a paid position of approximately 5-6 hours/week at $10/hour for the duration of the spring semester. The intern will be responsible for investigating the feasibility and potential development and installation of a “green roof” on the small garage located at the SAI Farm. Other duties may include SAI Farm garden development and various tasks related to the SAI Farm Natural Area. You will work directly with Dr. Robert Whyte of the Biological and Environmental Sciences Department and potentially other faculty affiliated with ICES and the SAI Farm. Expectations are for a completed report with recommendations for the development of such a roof and presentation of a final report to SAI.
If interested, please send a brief statement of interest and 1-page resume directly to:
Dr. Robert S. Whyte
While there is no deadline to apply, it is anticipated that the position will be filled no later than the end of January if not sooner.
