To: Faculty

The Office of International Programming is now accepting instructor applications for a new summer program: Academic English and American Culture Program to be held during July 2014.  We are looking for up to three instructors for a new summer program.  The program is not-for-credit and is for international students with an intermediate level of English proficiency.

Each instructor will be responsible for creating and teaching a course in one of the following areas:

1)      Academic Reading

2)      Speaking & Listening

3)      Academic Writing

Classes will begin meeting on Tuesday, July 8 and end on Thursday July 31.  Classes will not meet on Fridays.  Each class will be on hour per day and faculty may not miss any classes.  Classes will meet between 9am – 11:30am and 2:00 to 4:15 pm.

In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement requirement for notification to faculty of non-credit course offerings, I invite to offer a course 2014 Academic English and American Culture program (July 7-August 1, 2014) for international students.  Faculty members are given preference for teaching non-credit classes.

Additionally, I am looking for faculty willing to contribute to our program by providing a one hour presentation to the students on a subject of your choosing.  This would be a terrific service to the program and a way to showcase our faculty.
