RENEWING YOUR ACCOUNT FOR 2014-2015

If you were registered for the Cal U Alerts emergency text messaging service during the 2013-2014 academic year, you need to extend or activate your service for the upcoming 2014-2015 year, as all accounts are active for one year only.  Below are instructions to extend your service.

·         Go to the Cal U website and click on QUICK LINKS.

·         Click on the “Cal U Text Alert Registration” link.

·         You will be prompted to log in using your username and password.  This is the same username and password used to log onto your computer or for e-mail access.

·         At the Cal U Alerts page, go to the bottom section where you can log into your account using your Cal U Alerts username and password.

·         After you have logged in, account information regarding when your account will expire will appear.  Click on the button to extend or activate your service period.

CREATING A NEW ACCOUNT

If you were not registered for the Cal U Alerts emergency text messaging service during the 2013-2014 academic year, you are encouraged to register for the service for the 2014-2015 year.  Below are instructions to register for service.

·         Go to the Cal U website and click on QUICK LINKS.

·         Click on the “Cal U Text Alert Registration” link.

·         You will be prompted to log in using your username and password.  This is the same username and password used to log onto your computer or for e-mail access.

·         At the Cal U Alerts page, provide the requested information under the New User Sign-Up Form.

·         You will need to have your mobile phone with you when you register because a four-digit validation code will be sent to your phone by text during the sign-up process.  That validation code must be entered on the sign-up form in order to complete your registration.  An unvalidated phone number will not receive text messages from Cal U Alerts.

·         Cal U Alerts is equipped to send emergency information to e-mail accounts at the same time that text messages are sent.  If you wish to receive emergency notification through e-mail, click on Services and add your campus e-mail and/or personal e-mail addresses.  These e-mail addresses will also need to be validated by replying to validation e-mails sent to your e-mail accounts.
